Flat heading south east from start then gently undulating up to Pyle and Kenfig Hill. Continuing on quiet roads and country lanes through Merthyr Mawr to Ewenny. Lunch stop at Ewenny Garden Centre On quiet country lane then short stretch on B road into Bridgend, before joining tarmac cycle path following pretty route alongside River Ogmore. Rejoin road near Pen y Cae; short climb max 7.5% to Parc Slip. From Margam along Harbour Way to Aberavon. Along the Promenade and through Baglan back to start. Surface Type: Roads, quiet country lanes, riverside cycle path, promenade. Hazards: Busy road through Pyle; take care crossing the A48 before Merthyr Mawr; Aberavon promenade can be busy with pedestrians and children. Look Out for: Thatched cottages at Merthyr Mawr; Ogmore River cycle path; Ice cream & coffee at Aberavon. Total ascent feet/metres: 1832’ / 558 metres
Highlights: A pleasant, rolling, scenic route via cycle paths and quiet country lanes, through pretty Merthyr Mawr, and along Aberavon Beachfront to end.
