Henryhd Falls
A Swansea & Gower Cycling Festival Ride:
Leave Sainsbury’s over the Sail Bridge, turn left on to King’s Rd, cross the main road and drop down on to the cycle path, NCR 43, heading north along the banks of the river Tawe. Follow the path all the way to Clydach, cross over main road and continue on the path, cycling between the river and the canal through Pontardawe and on to Ystalyfera. Join the road and proceed through the village into Ystradgynlais where the lunch stop will be at the Loaf Cafe.
After lunch, and a mainly flat ride, there’s a short steep climb, (9%) up onto the cycle path, which climbs very gently for another 4 miles approx, before coming out turning right onto the main road and shortly after, heading left on to the quiet road to Coelbren. Shortly after there’s a very short but steep (max 10%) climb to the car park for Henryhd Falls. The ride will stop here for approx 30 mins to allow time for participants to visit the Falls. Cleats are not advised – bring a pair of trainers.
After visiting the falls, the ride continues west to join the Brecon Road at Abercrave. It will stay on this road to Ystalyfera, before rejoining the cycle path and following teh same route back to the start.
