Chepstow & the Severn Bridge
Follow signposted NCR4 on flat road and cycle path out of Newport to Pye Corner, and then quiet country lanes to village of Redwick.
Continuing on road then cycle path from Indy to Rogiet, and on into Caldicot where we rejoin road, heading north to Caerwent. Heading east and north, on NCR4, with half mile (1km) climb on Mounton Road (max 11%), before turning south just before Chepstow, joining cycle path to cross the Severn Bridge of south side, returning on north side, with a gentle climb from bridge to Chepstow.
Lunch in the Two Rivers Inn.
Leave Chepstow on Mathern rd, with a short climb past St Pierre Golf Club, and on to Portskewett on B4245, bypassing Caldicot and rejoining NCR4 & on to Redwick where we may stop for a short break.
Cycling on NCR4 to Pye Corner, then north past the Newport Velodrome and back to start.

Surface Type: Varied mix of Tarmac/gravel/dirt cycle paths, main and quiet country roads.

Hazards: Majority of route is on quiet country lanes and cycle paths, but take care on short stretches of main road.
Highlights: Medieval church of St Thomas in Redwick; the ride across and views from the Severn Bridge.
