Brynamman (Tough anti-clockwise)
Initially flat route on cycle path to Gowerton, then cycle path past Gorseinon and on to Pontardulais. On road, climb from Pontardulais up through Fforest, and undulating through Llanedi for 4 miles / 6.3km, Max gradient 9% Downhill into Tycroes and on into Ammanford, then undulating for 6 miles/10km, before a sharp kick up into Brynamman. Rolling out of Brynamman for 2 miles before steep .5km climb (max 14%), followed by a longer steep climb, approx one mile, with max of 18%) before fast descent back to Ammanford. Flat road, then cycle path through Ammanford, over swing bridge, for climb up to Garnswllt (1.8 miles (3km), max of 11% at the bottom. Down into Pontardulais, Gorseinon, Gowerton, and onto the Clyne Valley cycle path back to the Railway Inn. Lunch: Gwen cae gurwen Hazards: Traffic on main road from Ammanford; Steep descent into Ammanford on return loop; steep descent from Garnswllt on narrow road with right angle turn at bottom (max 11%).
