Cross Hands via Sylen
A Swansea & Gower Cycling Festival Ride:
Head north on NCR 4 from teh rugby ground, to Gowerton, then follow road through Loughor and onto Llanelli where you join the Swiss Valley Cycle path (NCR 47). Gentle 4.5 mile climb on good path nefore turning right onto quiet lane heading orth east at Horeb. Theres a 2 mile climb, averaging 5%, max 14%, through Sylen before descending to rejoin the Swiss Valley cycle path, which you follow up through Tumble and on to Cross Hands. On road north to Cefneithin, and a short ride east to Cwmcerrig Farm Shop and Cafe for lunch.
After flat exit from Cross Hands, we turn right off the main road onto a steep 1.5 mile climb, max gradient of 16%, then its a fast downhill to Llannon, a bit of an uphill to Bryn, then down into Bynea, flat to Loughor and Gowerton onto cycle path and back to start.
Start and end at Dunvant RFC.
