Penlle’r Castel
A Swansea & Gower Festival Ride: Follow cyclepath (NCR 4) north to Gowerton and another cyclepath past Gowerton and then on road east to Pontlliw before climbing steadily north east and then undulating east to Felindre. A short but steep (17%) climb out of Felindre, with rolling terrain on to Rhydypandy. Head north on quiet road, climbing steadily for 2.5 miles (max 10%) followed by a short descent before another climb of 1.5 miles (max 9%, average 4.5%). Penlle'r Castel is the highest point in the City and County of Swansea, with great views south to Swansea and northeast to the Brecon Beacons. Bring a packed lunch to eat here. Desced steeply north and west to Ammanford for a coffee stop at Coaltown, before turning south on quiet lane for a climb up to Garnswllt (max 8%), and down into Pontardulais to rejoin cycle path back to start. Start and end at Dunvant RFC.
