Swansea & Gower Cycling Festival 2025: Ride 9 – The Bwlch via Cymmer
Heading east from Swansea through Briton Ferry, mostly flat to Port Talbot, then gentle climb along cycle path to Pontrhydyfen. Tarmac cycle path on gentle climb up through the Afan Forest, before joining road just after Cymmer. Start of the Bwlch Climb, up through Abergwynfi, for 5 miles / 8 km to the summit, with max gradient of 8%, averaging about 4-5%. Descend on road from summit for approx 8.5 miles / 14km to Blackpill, then dirt/gravel cycle path to Aberkenfig. Gently undulating return to Port Talbot on road via Tondu, Parc Slip, Pen y Bryn and Margam, and back to start.
